Japanese Language Club South Africa

Welcome to the Japanese Language Club of South Africa! By becoming a member, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

    • Membership Duration: Your annual membership begins on the 1 January of the joining year and concludes on the 31st of December of the same year. Membership may be renewed manually, and details on renewal will be communicated in advance.
    • Membership Fees:  The annual membership fee is R400 as of January 2024. Payments can be made through bank transfers to:
      • FNB
      • ACC no: 63070736394
      • Account holder: Japanese Language Club South Africa 
  • Use your full name and surname as a reference. Please send POP to info@jlcsa.co.za. We will send your Welcome Pack once payment is received.  
  • Refund Policy: Membership fees are non-refundable, except in cases of cancellation within 30  days from the start of the membership period. Refund requests should be submitted in writing to info@jlcsa.co.za 
  • Club Activities and Events: Your membership covers participation in regular club activities and events. Special activities or events may have additional charges, which will be communicated beforehand.
  • Code of Conduct: Members are expected to adhere to a code of conduct promoting respectful and inclusive behavior during all club activities, events, and online interactions. Violations may result in membership termination.
  • Intellectual Property: Any intellectual property such as photos, videos etc created during club activities is owned by the Japanese Language Club of South Africa. Members may use such materials for personal purposes but must seek permission for any commercial use.
  • Communication Channels: Club updates, announcements, and discussions will primarily be communicated through our website, newsletter, and social media. Members are encouraged to stay informed through these channels.
  • Membership Termination: The club reserves the right to terminate a membership for reasons including, but not limited to, repeated violations of the code of conduct or failure to comply with the terms and conditions.
  • Data Privacy: The club collects and stores members’ personal information in accordance with relevant data protection laws (see: Popi Act below). Our privacy policy outlines how your information is used and protected.

Amendment of Terms: The Japanese Language Club of South Africa may amend these terms and conditions with reasonable notice. Members will be notified of any changes through our website, newsletter, and social media.
